The Band

Performing and competing as a highly awarded Concert Band, our band members also participate in solo competitions including the NSW State Solo Championships and Sydney Metropolitan Solo Competition – with excellent results year on year.

Apart from weekly rehearsals, Northern Youth Symphonic Wind has performed at The Sydney Opera House, Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Willoughby Spring Festival and the Concourse in Chatswood featuring soloists from Opera Australia Orchestra and Sydney Symphony Orchestra.

These concerts add high levels of confidence and commitment to our young musicians, many of whom go on to perform in community or educational events across the state.

Our NYSW Alumni

We’re delighted to stay in touch with our past members via social media, emails and seeing our alumni attend our concerts. 
 

Many have gone on to pursue their musical future in bands, tutoring and community groups or are even studying at conservatoriums. We will continue to keep track of them.
